The Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures offers a sightseeing tour in the footsteps of the heroes of Jules Verne’s novel Around the World in 80 Days. The famous literary work became the basis of the concept and outline of the architectural design of the exhibition witth the same title, mapping the world situation of around 1872, when the plot of the novel takes place. Similarly as the main protagonist of the novel – the rich English gentleman Phileas Fogg, the main line of the exhibition is an imaginary race against time across the meridians during the travel from London through Asia and America back to London. Authentic historical objects evoke a period atmosphere. Photos, infographics and special issues of newspapers offer a lot of information and each visitor can choose the level at which he or she wants to address the topics.
